How What to Use answers the question

What to Use helps you find Australian software for a specific task. Tell it what you need to get done, such as run payroll, take bookings or send a proposal, and it shows products that say they do that job. There are 40 products to choose from.

Tasks come first

Each product is filed under the tasks its own website says it handles. A task gets its own page once three or more products cover it; 8 tasks do, including booking and ticketing, ecommerce operations, practice management, accounting workflows, freight management, payroll and workforce management, marketplace platforms and proposals and billing. If a product handles two tasks, you will find it under both.

Why a product is here

It must be a named software product with an official site, not a business that installs or recommends software. It also needs Australian evidence from that site, which the product page quotes: 14 list an Australian office, 13 mention Australian operations, 7 state Australian origin and 6 give an Australian head office.

What you will not find

We do not pick a winner for each task, and there are no ratings, reviews or best-of lists. Task pages list products A to Z so that no product gets a head start. Prices are not reproduced, but 19 products link to their own pricing pages.

Tell us about a change

Products were checked between 18 September 2026 and 25 September 2026; each page shows its date. If a product no longer does a task, has been renamed or has shut down, email support@whattouse.com.au. Please include the product's own page that shows the change.
